Look Upstream!: Localisation at the structural level

Can localisation projects and movements work at the policy level to rebalance the economic playing field?
‘The economy’ is treated as a law of nature – the natural, almost evolutionary result of ‘supply and demand’ and ‘efficiencies of scale’. But this couldn’t be further from the truth. For generations, policymakers have skewed the economic playing field to favour global enterprises, while neglecting local ones, with disastrous results for people and planet. How can localisation projects and movements work at the policy level to rebalance the economic playing field in favour of what makes sense? Let’s come together to look upstream and explore these questions of structural change.

What is a Localisation Sharing Circle?
This is a series of monthly online forums. Part sharing, part learning but all about connecting with others to help think of things in new ways and build ideas to actions. These sessions, cofacilitated by Transition Australia, The NENA Localisation Hub and Local Futures offers a timely check in, refresh and opportunity to explore what others are doing and how we can do it better together.
